Things Will Work Out

IMG_1008

We survived all three hours of church yesterday. Yay for us! Not only that, we made it through Relief society, and majority of Sunday school without having to walk the halls. That was a first! But let me tell you, this little boy was most definitely ready for a nap when we got home. Nine am church and sacrament meeting last is going to be an adventure for us this year. Also only a few short months till he is in nursery. What happened to my little baby boy? It was suggested to us that we actually start taking him into nursery a month prior and sitting with him to help him adjust. Or maybe help me adjust.

Yesterday I posted on my Instagram account a quote that really stood out to me during the Relief Society lesson. "Be believing. Be happy. Don't get discouraged. Things will work out." - Gordon B. Hinkley. The lesson was on Cultivating an Attitude of Happiness and a Spirit of Optimism. After hearing that quote I knew that was what I wanted our small family to focus on this year, and to always remember that saying when things are not going so well. 2016 was a rough year for us, and the start of 2017 has not been much better. But what has happened is in the past. Today is the now and tomorrow is the future. I have to keep telling myself, things will work out.

During Sacrament meeting I went and reread through the lesson, and I know that it was exactly what I needed to hear/read. It has been a long time since I have felt reassured that things will work out. Our challenges are not going to go away overnight, but the attitude I have been having towards the things in my life lately can be changed. "Believe in yourself. Believe in your capacity to do great and good things. Believe that no mountain is so high that you cannot climb it. Believe that no storm is so great that you cannot weather it... You are a child of God, of infinite capacity. Stand a little taller, rise a little higher, be a little better. Make the extra effort. You will be happier. You will know a new satisfaction, a new gladness in your heart."

So for 2017 I will be believing. I will be happy. I will not be discouraged. I know things will work out.

Love You! Things WILL work out. Good idea on going in to the nursery a month early. I'm sure he will love it.
